Privacy Policy

This policy explains how the Primal Run application ("the app", "we") handles the data of the people who use it. Data controller: the operator of Primal Run, reachable at info@primalrun.app.

What data we collect

• Account data: when you sign in with Google or Facebook, we receive your name, email address and profile picture, via Firebase Authentication (Google).
• Location (GPS): during a run the app uses your device location to compute distance, route and pace. Raw GPS coordinates are processed on the device; we do not upload your precise location to our servers.
• Data you provide: gender and weight, used to estimate calories.
• Activity data: run history, statistics and progress. These are stored on your device and, if you are signed in, synced to the cloud via Firebase Firestore (Google) and linked to your account, so you can find them across devices and not lose them.
• Advertising data: in the free version we show ads via Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers (including the advertising ID) and usage data to serve and measure ads. The Pro version removes advertising.
• Diagnostic data: on a crash we collect error reports and technical device information via Firebase Crashlytics (Google), to improve stability.

How we use the data

• To let you sign in and identify you.
• To run the workouts (distance, pace, calories) and show your progress.
• To sync your activity data across devices.
• To show ads in the free version (Google AdMob).
• To diagnose and fix errors and malfunctions.

Sharing and third-party services

We do not sell your data. We rely on the following providers:

• Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Crashlytics) – privacy
• Google AdMob (ads in the free version) – privacy
• Meta / Facebook (Facebook sign-in) – privacy

Advertising

The free version shows ads through Google AdMob, which may use your device advertising ID to serve and measure ads. You can reset or limit ad personalization in your device settings (Android: Settings → Google → Ads). The Pro version is ad-free.

Data retention

Activity data stays on your device while you use the app; if you are signed in, the synced copy stays on Firebase Firestore, linked to your account, until you delete the account or the data (see below). Account data stays linked to your Firebase profile until you delete it.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict the processing of, and object to the use of your data. To exercise these rights, write to info@primalrun.app.

Data deletion

You can delete your account and associated data directly in the app, or on request. Full instructions are here: User data deletion.

Children

The app is not intended for children under 16 and does not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We may update this policy; changes will be posted on this page with the new update date.
